International Artist Exhibit
Elleny Pendefund - Solo Exhibit
December 15 - 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Art Show
December 15-21

In a quiet Saturday Dec 15th, afternoon, while distinguished guests listened to talented Piano musicians Mr Rob Earp, we had the privilege to show the work of a very gifted artist Elleny Pendefunda, that uses her ability to invent, depict, and describe to create meaning.

In her work, the elements of composition, color, space and movement are handled with great sensitivity. As any young visual artist, she views the world with acuity, aware of dimensions of space, color, and textures unseen by those who simply look.
The process of creative interpretation as well as thinking with an aesthetic sense is resulting in a unique, personalized statement.
In a unique dance of color and talent, the more the artist works and refines her work, the more artistic the interpretation, setting the path for the future to become one of the most distinguished and accomplished artists in the world. Also in attendence was City Council, Lewis Metzner & Sculpture Mr Mike Williams, who will be exhibiting his work in Romania sponsored by Contemporary Art Gallery.

Emerging Student Exhibition
St Maria Goretti High School Exhibit
May 1st To May 15th, 2012
Reception May 12th, 1 to 3pm.
.JPG)
The artwork of St. Maria Goretti High School students is representative of the skill of many talented young adults as well as the high quality of their artistic education. The self potraits in acrylics are particularly powerful and are able to capture the subtleties of personality. The self portraits on scratchboard likewise show dramatic contrast and are so craftfully done that they have the same quality that could be witnessed in professional gallery work. There are clay creations with terse statements that show very well how the poetic can be very readily congruent with the aesthetic. There are also clay masks that illustrate a certain youthful angst and humor. Finally there is incorporated into the show abstract two dimensional drawings which employ the use of color sharpies that are a very good excercise in training the youth to understand that color and shape are the basic components of any good art. All in all it is an outstanding show which hallows the importance of the arts in any academic curriculum.

International Artist Exhibit
Norina Consuela Forna
Reception Sunday April 15. 5-7pm
Exhibit runs through May 15

Norina Forna has some interesting and inexpensive pieces at the Contemporary School of the Arts and Gallery. She has a combination of flower paintings, landscapes, and seascapes. Her traditional themes would lend themselves toward any classical decor to be found in a home. She employs painterly techniques that have a textural quality and provide an additional interest to her work. All of her paintings likewise have a simplicity that is refreshing. I would encourage all to give this Romanian artist a look as acquainting oneself with a variety of different aesthetics can do nothing less than create a better eye for beauty.
