The popular Contemporary School of the Arts and Gallery Inc. on Franklin Street in Hagerstown is expanding its mission to serve the student demographic of the area with its after school art program and gallery. In order to reach deeper into the community and enhance the education and development of our youth through an appreciation of the Arts, the program is now establishing a wider presence by setting up a similar facility in Waynesboro, PA.

On December 2, 2013, the school and gallery opens 3 pm til 6pm at its sister location at 10, East Main Street, Waynesboro. The Grand Opening is on Saturday December 7, 2013 and will feature the work of French artist and Pennsylvania resident, Eliane Embrose.

The body of work in this exhibit reflects movement that is at once elemental and whimsical with shades of both nostalgia and angst. Pieces, at first glance, appear to be rooted in realism but contain strong surrealistic undertones while some of the work dances, there is a gravitational pull that denies the quest to soar. Violence and desolation permeate the message in a way that is disturbing. But visitors to the gallery will find themselves drawn to the artist's expression of a journey that sometimes seems personal. The exhibit will hang till the end of December.

Donation LetterIn celebration of our 10th Anniversary, there is an Art Reception August 24 from 4:00–7:00pm featuring original work by Andreia Gliga. For more information, call 301.791.6191 or email
